A workshop for ideas that want to become things
UniPod is the Manufacturing Technology University Innovation Pod at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. It was inaugurated on 6 July 2026 as Nigeria’s first Manu-Tech UniPod, a partnership of the Federal Government, the United Nations Development Programme, TETFund, and the Abia State Government.
The brief is practical: take research off the shelf and into products, workshops, and small factories. The building in these photographs carries the UniPod name, with TETFund and the university on the sign, a short walk from the palm avenues of the main campus.
