The dry-season colour

Azumini Blue River runs by Azumini town in Ukwa East, about half an hour from Aba if you take the Enugu–Port Harcourt expressway. In the dry months, roughly November to April, the water shows the blue-green colour the river is named for, and the banks are easier to walk.

Visits are by canoe and by the sandy edges. The state has discussed developing the river, and a State Executive Council note approved money for a first phase. That is a plan, not a finished resort, so go expecting a river community rather than a park with a gate fee you can look up in advance.
